Boxing Exercises For Fitness

There are several exercises that boxers do consistently to gain strength, speed and coordination- running, jumping rope, heavy bag and speed bag. If you are not going to actually box, you can pick a couple of these and use them in your workout. If you are going to box, you need them all, of course- plus some other stuff they will teach you at a boxing gym. But for simple fitness, 15 minutes of jumping rope and hitting the heavy bag will wear you out! Try alternating 3 minutes of each and see how you feel. This is a great substitute for cardio and has the added benefit of helping with strength and coordination. As your fitness level increases, you can work your way up to 30 minutes total. You will want to do your weight training first since you will be shot after doing these exercises!
